The Cape Fear region is facing high rates of urban deforestation and development, which is bad news for the sustainability of our neighborhoods. It is not enough to just take measurements and have data about urban development; we want to work toward innovative solutions for neighborhoods impacted by development and human activity. By investing in this program, you are funding youth to use technology to take empirical measurements of urban thermodynamics to predict the effects of development and human activity on climate and sustainability of downtown and suburban Wilmington.
