Our Sidewalk Science programs bring unique hands-on STEM experiences to the outdoors of your neighborhood in a safe and nurturing environment. Come and discover the wonderful world of chemistry, biology, physics, climate, weather, ecology and much more, and learn how you can make a difference in your community using science as "a way of life".

No prior experience necessary, just a love for learning and exploring the natural world, and most importantly having fun! So bring your ideas and passion for learning, and be a future leader in science.

2024 Schedule

Back in 2020, YSA started Sidewalk Science to provide a safe way for elementary and middle school students to engage in hands-on science during the pandemic. We are excited to re-launch this program this summer! In July and August, YSA will set up science activities around the Cape Fear area, and anyone is welcome to walk up and join in on the fun! We will continue to update this page with upcoming Sidewalk Science pop-ups, so check back here to get the most up-to-date schedule.
