What is required of participants in the Code Girls program
During the program, students will learn the fundamentals of coding working in small teams and be mentored by early career women in computer science and technology. If new to the program, each participant will complete one week of beginner level instruction in computer coding and basic web design. Following the introductory week, all groups will work together on an intermediate level coding research project. Each group may choose their coding project from a list of public health and climate change themes. Each group will present their projects at the Earth Day Summit on Saturday April 22, 2023 at GLOW Academy.
When do workshops run?
Classes are all conducted in-person at GLOW Academy each Wednesday from 3.45p-5p. The schedule of events will be posted soon on this page.
Do I need to have my own computer?
Students do not need to purchase or own a computer to participate in Code Girls. YSA will provide full access to computers, printers, internet, software and other technology used in the program. Participants are welcome to use their own laptops if they desire but this is not a requirement.
How do I find out more about Code Girls?
