Urban Flooding

Urban flooding is increasing across North Carolina due to poor drainage, aging infrastructure, and stronger storms. Cities like Wilmington and Fayetteville face frequent water damage, road closures, and property loss. Without smarter planning and climate adaptation, neighborhoods will continue to flood, displacing families and straining city budgets.

This project uses satelite data and python coding to create a flood risk map for coastal North Carolina
