YSA BROADENING PARTICIPATION IN SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Through the generosity of our sponsors, the Young Scientist Academy is pleased to announce several Broadening Participation scholarships for our 2020 After School & Summer Camp programs, including:
- Bill & Fran Darrow Scholarship for Broadening Girl Participation in Science - Provides free tuition for one month in our after school program or two weeks in our summer computer science workshops
- Roy Overstreet Scholarship for Broadening Minority Participation in Science - Provides free tuition for one month in our after school program or one week in our summer camp program

YSA is seeking applications from motivated students from grades 3 through high school with interests in Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Consideration for scholarships will be based on student’s motivation for applying, references, academic standing, and potential for future growth. Furthermore, students eligible for Broadening Participation scholarships must be members of under-represented groups in the sciences. According to the National Science Foundation, these include, but are not limited to: girls, Alaska Natives, Native Americans, Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders, and Persons with Disabilities.
