YSA merit & broadening participation scholarship program
Through the generosity of our sponsors, the Young Scientist Academy is pleased to announce several Merit and Broadening Participation scholarships for our Summer Camp and Fall after school programs, including:
- Hermes Mianzan Merit Scholarship - One full week of summer camp, student's choice
- Roy Overstreet Scholarship for Broadening Participation in Science - Full tuition for the Fall semester after school program for two nights a week.
- Sally Ride Scholarship for Broadening Participation in Science - One full week of summer camp for a student from an underrepresented group
YSA is seeking applications from motivated students from grades 3 through 8 with interests in Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines. Consideration for both types of scholarships will be based on student’s motivation for applying, references, academic standing, and potential for future growth. Furthermore, students eligible for Broadening Participation scholarships must be members of under-represented groups in the sciences, according to the National Science Foundation. These include, but are not limited to: girls, Alaska Natives, Native Americans, Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders, and Persons with Disabilities.
To apply, please complete the 'YSA Scholarship Application' form below. Review of applications for the summer camp program will commence in mid May. Review of applications for the fall after school program will commence in early June.
