Maddie W.

I’m a senior at GLOW Academy and have been part of Young Scientist Academy since 2021. I first joined through the Code Niñas program, where I discovered my passion for STEM by creating a greenspace map of Wilmington, NC. Since then, I’ve taken on a range of roles. From serving as a summer Education Intern teaching coding, to contributing to projects on stormwater infrastructure and environmental research! I now lead the Parkour Science team, where we “parkour” from topic to topic, exploring diverse ideas and solutions through science and communication. I’m also proud to have been accepted as a Global STEM Ambassador, continuing to connect my work to real-world impact. Outside of STEM, I love photography and spending time at the beach!
