Volunteer at the YSA Hackathon
What is the YSA Hackathon?
The Hackathon is a five-day STEAM experience where students work in small teams to design, build, test, and present original projects. From engineering wind turbines and programming Raspberry Pi computers to investigating water quality and exploring marine biology, every project connects classroom science to real-world impact. This year's projects span six topic areas: Clean Energy, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Computer Engineering, Space Science, and Coding.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteer Project Leaders guide small groups of students through their project over the course of the week. You don't need to be an expert, just encouraging, flexible and ready to learn alongside the students. We provide all materials, facilitation guides, and will hold an orientation before the event.
We are especially looking for volunteers with an interest or background in any of the following areas:
Hackathon Dates, Times, Location
Volunteer Orientation will occur over zoom on Tuesday May 26th at 6:00pm
Volunteers are welcome to join for one day or the full event - every bit of support counts!
